Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye celebrated the 10th edition of its ‘Family Day’, where all its employees came together, with a series of events held at the plant facilities on August 31st. The ‘Family Day’ gathering, attended by approximately 13,000 people and held in a festive atmosphere, concluded with a concert by Zeynep Bastık, one of the most popular pop artists in recent years.

As one of  Toyota's production facilities in the Europe, TMMT exporting most of its production to 150 countries, and contributes greatly to the local region and Turkish economy, considering its employees as its greatest value, TMMT celebrated the 10th Family Day with the participation of 13,000 people in Sakarya.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye which provides employment opportunities for 5 thousand people, organizes the "Family Day" event to spent quality time together as a big family. Family Day celebration was held at the Sakarya Plant, with the participation of employees' families and it was carried out with great participation and enthusiasm. Throughout the day, various refreshments were offered and entartaining activities were arranged for children and adults. Additionally series of events were also held on the Family Day to mark the 10th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkiye.

In his speech at the Family Day, TMMT President and CEO Erdoğan Şahin emphasized the importance of work-life balance for employees. He highlighted that the company continues policies and organizes diverse, employee-focused activities ranging from personal development to sports. 

Şahin reminded that TMMT employees and their families are a big family. Şahin added "Today TMMT exports 280 thousands of hybrid and plug-in-hybrid vehicles to nearly 150 countries in 5 continents. We are the largest production base in Europe with our capacity of 280 thousand vehicles. As the previous years, we ranked as the second-largest among exporter companies in Turkiye in 2023. TMMT is the first plant in Europe to produce plug-in vehicles. With our newly established battery production line we will be serving Toyota’s electirification transformation. Behind all this achievements there are investment, technology and most importantly people; you as our employees. We have made TMMT a role model in Turkiye and globally. This wouldn't be possible without our employees' and their families' efforts and dedication. Thank you to all TMMT employees, subcontractor employees and their valued families; with all my love and respect thank you for spending Family Day with us. Our priority is the health, safety and well-being of our employees. For this reason we try to provide a comfortable, clean and safe production environment. We also focus on improving service quality such as transportation and medical care. As we do all these things, we don't forget our responsibilities to the society. We provide vehicles to schools for practical education. We also support non-govermental organizations like LÖSEV, Darüşşafaka and Temiz Deniz.

“Our Female Employee Rate Has Reached 15 Percent”

Erdoğan Şahin also noted that they will continue to contribute to the industry and the Turkish economy with the great support of their employees in the future, as they’ve done so far. He emphasized the company's focus on hiring women in recent years. He also added "We actively support female employement of our plant. I can proudly say that our female employee rate has reached to 15 percent. I believe that different perspectives brought by our female employees make our company stronger and more innovative.

Erdoğan Şahin also talked about the long-standing friendship between Turkiye -Japan relations; ”Diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkiye were established in 1924. Two countries have been able to continue a strong friendship dating back to the beginning of their diplomatic relations by strengthening them with the understanding of 'strategic partnership'. In the name of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye, I celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkiye for its 100th anniversary, and wish for the eternal continuation of this friendship."
