New Toyota C-HR was Introduced to Sakarya

C-HR, Toyota's new crossover model, was introduced to Sakarya local media in a press event, in which Sakarya Governor Huseyin Avni Cos, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeki Toçoğlu, Provincial Police Director Osman Babadağı participated as well. Planned to be export to world from Sakarya, Toyota C-HR which will be rolled out of the production lines at the end of 2016. Plant capacity will increase to 280 thousand vehicles, while creating more than 1000 additional employment.
 Toyota C-HR, which will be produced in Sakarya by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye, had been displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March. C-HR will be the “first crossover” and “first hybrid vehicle” to be produced in Turkiye. As one of the most outstanding plants among Toyota plants globally because of its quality and efficiency, TMMT will be the first plant outside Japan to build vehicle on Toyota’s new platform and philosophy, Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA).
 
Making a speech in the event, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye Mr.Hiroshi Kato said, “We are very proud of production of C-HR in our Sakarya plant alongside Corolla and Verso models. New model will be a new milestone for our plant. With this model, our plant’s importance will be highlighted. C-HR will be a pride of our employees and Sakarya as well as Turkey. Today Turkish automotive industry is highly efficient and competitive thanks to value-added high quality production with its capable engineers and skillful workers”.
Governor of Sakarya Mr.Hüseyin Avni Coş also made a speech to celebrate this memorial milestone.
 
With C-HR, TMMT’s export ratio of total production will reach 90%. Including new investment worth Euro 350 million for new model, cumulative investment of TMMT will reach Euro 1.7 billion. Additional employment is also estimated to increase by more than 1000 people. Plant production capacity will increase from 150,000 to 280,000 units per year.
 
In the event, vehicle's technical specifications were introduced by Quality Assurance Department Project Manager Mr.Melih Yüceer. He said, "Our plant’s level of quality is considered among one of the bests. Thanks to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye's advanced engineering capabilities and intense and dedicated efforts of all employees, this challenging project successfully managed till today. In this project, we have made great progress, especially in terms of engineering. I am proud to say that it's a great achievement for our country."
 
Toyota C-HR will have three engine types which are 1.2Turbo petroleum, 1.8 hybrid and 2.0 petroleum. 1.2Turbo version producing 116 DIN/HP, while the 1.8 hybrid version will produce 122 DIN/HP. 2.0-liter engine will have 150 DIN/HP. 1.2Turbo version will be produced with two different types 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive or a CVT automatic transmission and four-wheel drive traction. 1.8 hybrid version will have CVT transmission and front-wheel drive. 2.0-liter engine will be produced CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.
