TMMT Donated Blood to Turkish Red Crescent & Organized Health Seminars

Employees of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye (TMMT) participated in “Safe Blood Donation Project” campaign this year as well. TMMT has been being a part of the project since 2010. In 2017, campaign was realized on 27-28 November at TMMT and totally 120 employees donated their blood. While employees conveyed gladness to meet social responsibility, they also remarked the importance of blood donation. Officials of Turkish Red Crescent Society expressed gratitude to TMMT employees and said that everyone’s participation in blood donation is necessary, as “Blood is needed not urgently but constantly.”
 
After blood donation campaign, TMMT organized a seminar to increase awareness of lung cancer. Dr. Süleyman Temiz participated as a speaker (Medical Oncology Specialist of the Acıbadem Kocaeli Hospital). He mentioned, lung cancer is the second most common type of cancer in men and women but it is the leading cause of mortality. He also said smoking is the most important risk factor at the lung cancer and he reminded that lung cancer can be prevented by the eating healthily, doing sports and staying away from smoking substantially.
