Production at TMMT will stop between 21 April-2 May 2011

Toyota Turkiye’s production will be stopped between 21 April and 2 May based on the Toyota’s decision to stop production at all European Plants. After the big earthquake in Japan on 11 March 2011, gaps accoured in part supply chain.
 
5 plants of Toyota in UK, France, Poland and Turkiye as well will be stopped for several days in late April / early May.
 
Mr.Orhan Ozer, Toyota Turkiye President & CEO, said: “Based on Toyota Motor Europe’s decision, there will be no production in our plant between 21 April and 2 May. Even though most of our parts come from Turkish and European suppliers, we are experiencing gaps in our supply chain for the parts come from Japan. Part supply process has been monitoring carefully by our company and Toyota Motor Europe as well. We have been taking all necessary actions to return to normal as soon as possible. I believe Toyota Turkiye and also other plants in Europe will be reached to the planned production results through the full effort of the members".
 
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced last week that production at its factories in Japan will restart from 18 April until 27 April at 50% of normal pace. Year end planned production target of Toyota Turkiye, produces Verso and Auris models at Sakarya Pant , is around 95 thousand vehicles.
Toyota Turkiye plans to produce 95 thousand units of by end of the year 2011.
