Toyota Turkiye’s production returns to 100% normal

Following the resolution of parts supply problem, production in Europe, including Toyota Turkey, return to 100% production volume as from June 1, faster than expected.

Mr.Orhan Ozer – President and CEO of Toyota Turkiye said “our production will return 100% normal as from 1st of June, just following the resolution of Japan parts supply problem of some European suppliers. Like the other European plants of Toyota, Toyota Turkiye’s production will return to pre-earthquake level starting from June,1st. Part supply process will be monitoring carefully until the problems will be solved permanently. It is a great news of solving the problem very earlier than expected for our employees and also our customers and I thank all employees and suppliers for their continuous efforts by keeping their motivation high. During the period after big earthquake in Japan, we shared all steps of the progress with the public transparently as we do in our all other issues. I strongly believe that Toyota Turkiye and also other plants in Europe will be reached to the planned production volume with the full efforts of employees, as I said previously. Finally, I thank all customers who always believe Toyota brand for their continuous support”.

After the big earthquake in Japan on 11 March 2011, due to the gaps in part supply chain, 5 plants of Toyota in UK, France, Poland and Turkiye had stopped production for 8 days in late April and production was limited in May. TOYOTA TURKIYE, which is one of the Turkiye’s leading exporters, manufactures the Verso and Auris models. TOYOTA TURKIYE employs 3,000 people and represents a total investment of €1.2 billion. TOYOTA TURKEY continues to its contribution to economy and society through its exportation which is more than 95% of its production to mainly in European countries. Year end planned production target of Toyota Turkiye is around 95 thousand vehicles
