TMMT Met Local Media Representatives

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkiye met with local media representatives in Sakarya on 2 November. Information of TMMT's 2017 performance was shared by senior management at the event held at company’s social facilities.
TMMT welcomed to local media representatives of Sakarya. Senior Vice President Necdet Şentürk, Human Resources General Manager Masahito Ishii, and Financial Affairs and Corporate Affairs Coordinator Keiji Fukumoto participated to activity. A presentation on the performance of TMMT in 2017 was presented and the local media representatives had the opportunity to test the C-HR, which is the first hybrid and SUV model produced in Turkey.
 
Largest Production Capacity in Europe
In November of 2016,C-HR started to be produced with te 400 million investment which is the first hybrid and SUV model in Turkiye. TMMT SVP Şentük said that TMMT reached the production, export and employment records with the new model. He also highlighted that with the C-HR manufacturing, company switched 3 shift production system and accordingly to this, company production capacity doubled, and number of employees increased to 5 thousand 500. ‘‘With our third model, we had the first Toyota New Global Platform (TNGA) model producing company outside of Japan . Also, TMMT has the most largest production capacity in Europe’’ he added.
2 Million Toyota in Sakarya
Şenturk said that they they are proud of reaching to produce the 2 millionth vehicle in September, ‘‘We started our production in Sakarya in 1994 with the Corolla and reached one million production volume in 2009 with Verso model. For 15 years, while producing 1 million vehicles, we produced 1 million vehicles more in 8 years from 2009 and consequently we reached 2 million vehicle in total production.’’ he said.
 
A Year Full of Record
TMMT aims produce up to 280 thousand vehicles and export 231 thousand until end of the year. In the first 10 months of the year, 229 thousand 986 vehicles were produced with an increase of 119 percent compared to the same period of the previous year while our exports increased by 192 percent and reached 203 thousand 797 vehicles. ‘‘By the end of October in 2017, with the production and export figures, TMMT has achieved the highest production / export volume today.’’Şentürk said.
Since its establishment, TMMT has invested $ 2.3 billion and has reached an export of 25 billion dollars. Also, Sakarya's ranking among the top exporting countries in Turkiye to 7th place and Şentürk said. ‘’We are proud of our contribution as a company.’’Şentürk, informed also TMMT exports almost 100 countries the models that they produced in Sakarya with high quality standards. That 74 % of exports were made in Europe, 20 % in North America, 6 % in the Middle East, North Africa and other countries.
 
Tmmt Adds Value To Sakarya
Şentürk emphasized that development of Sakarya, which has an important place in the automotive industry, will be parallel with the development of the country. TMMT has very good stantdards about quality, efficiency, safety, and other indicators. Global Toyota’s investments are the best proof of this success, Şentürk said. Beside 5 thousand 500 people works in the company, Sakarya sub-industry together with about 12,000 people employed in Sakarya by TMMT. Except these main facilities, we are trying to contribute with our corporate social responsibility projects to Sakarya since 2006. By taking into consideration of society, we continue to raise awareness about the environment, education, traffic, and sport issues’’ he said.
